DIG was founded in Saugerties, NY in 2005 by Daisy & Van Bolle.
Daisy Bolle, nee Daisy Kramer, grew up in Woodstock, NY, working from a young age at her parents' two clothing stores, Woodstock Design & Woodstock Trading Post. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College, she relocated to Los Angeles, California. There, she went to Otis Parsons where she studied fine art and fashion. She then worked at LA MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) for a few years, until she found her calling as a Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist. She styled the likes of Jessica Alba, Shakira, Zooey Deschanel, Amanda Peet, Jenny McCarthy, Rene Zellweger, Kathleen Robertson, Ione Skye, Hillary Duff, Rachel Blanchard, Phil Jackson, Luke Wilson & more. She also worked on many high-end advertising campaigns that have appeared in the pages of Vogue, Vanity Fair, & Harper's Bazaar including UGG Boots, Velvet, and Mercedes-Benz, traveling on location everywhere from Aspen to Cabo San Lucas.
Van Bolle, né Chagai Bolle, grew up on the trendy streets of Melrose, in Los Angeles, California. The son of a Dutch sports journalist, and a mother who you've seen in more movies than you can imagine, Van's youth was spent burning through his allowance at grunge and punk rock concerts during the week and underground raves on the weekends. Van attended college at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he whet his entrepreneurial appetite by opening up a record store and throwing raves for thousands of people. He imported DJs from all over the world, and had a hugely popular Smart Drink business, all while earning his BFA in Media Arts, and acting as the Music Director for his college radio station. After graduating, he traveled around Europe, Djing at clubs and launching his career as a Video Director filming Djs and bands from Amsterdam to Ibiza. Upon returning to LA, he managed a nightclub, hosting the likes of Moby & Carl Cox. There, he produced his first music video, and went on to direct and produce for internet companies and independent record labels. He was a Director of Photography for the music festival film, Coachella, as well as shows on MTV and VH1. His music video, "Waiting", for the band Taxi Doll, was featured in the opening scenes of the Harrison Ford movie, Firewall, and the video he directed for Czech rock band Sunshine went Top 5 on MTV Europe.
Daisy and Van met on a blind date at El Carmen, a hipster Mexican Wrestling Bar in LA. It was love at first sight. They were engaged four months later, and married a year after that at the amazing Paramour Estate in Silverlake, CA. Three years later they welcomed their daughter, Starla, at which point they decided to leave the hustle and bustle of LA for an idyllic life in the country.
Daisy's parents, Robin & Mike Kramer offered to teach them the family business. They moved to Saugerties, and DIG was born.
Daisy & Van now exclusively run DIG. Van Bolle occasionally moonlights under the alias of DJ Caviar. The couple welcomed the birth of their second daughter, Roxy, in 2008.
